JA Supporter of the Week: Will Mendonca

For his long-time service as a JA Board Member, his active volunteerism, and his support of the JA IRONMAN Golf Championship … we are excited to announce Will Mendonca of BankFive as our JA Supporter of the Week!

As a long-time member and the current Vice Chair of Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts’ Board of Directors, Will has been a tremendous advocate for JA while we work to expand the reach of our free financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship programs. He has helped dramatically increase the number of students we serve across the region, and has helped lead the efforts to deepen our impact in Taunton.

Will is a dedicated volunteer, bringing JA’s mission to life by delivering our free K-12 education programs in local classrooms. He teaches at least two JA Classroom Programs per year, including teaching the same second grade class at Elizabeth Pole Elementary School in Taunton every year.

He also volunteers to serve as a Business Mentor for Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts’ Titan Business Challenge. This annual event brings together more than 200 high school students from across Southern Massachusetts and gives them the opportunity to participate in a dynamic learning experience, hear from some of the region’s top business leaders, and compete for important scholarship awards that can help make a higher education possible.

In addition to his efforts as a volunteer, Will supports Junior Achievement through participation in our JA IRONMAN Golf Championship as well. This annual fundraising event helps keep everything Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts does 100% free for schools and students. Last year Will raised over $2,000 to support JA’s free education programs and was named a member of the JA Gold Supporter Club.

“JA is very fortunate to have Will as a member of our Board of Directors. His guidance and leadership have been invaluable to our organization, and his strong dedication to our mission is demonstrated through his outstanding support and volunteerism. He has also been instrumental in strengthening the growing partnership between JA and BankFive as we work together to spread financial literacy education across the region. We are so grateful for everything Will does to support Junior Achievement and our community!” – Jeffrey Pelletier, President, Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts

With deep gratitude for Will’s support of Junior Achievement and commitment to bringing free financial literacy education to local students, we are proud to honor him as our JA Supporter of the Week!
