For her dedication to preparing students for success through engaging learning opportunities like Junior Achievement … we are excited to announce Patricia Kane of Dartmouth High School as our JA Supporter of the Week!

Patricia is a Business Education teacher at Dartmouth High School. She has been a supporter of Junior Achievement for many years, bringing JA’s free financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship education programs to her students in a variety of ways.

She is her school’s coordinator for participation in the JA Titan Business Challenge. As Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts’ largest annual event, Titan brings together 200 high school students from across the region to participate in a dynamic hands-on learning experience. Students compete in teams using the interactive business simulator JA Titan which puts them at the helm of a virtual company, hear from some of the region’s top business and community leaders, and compete for scholarship awards that can help make a higher education possible. Patricia’s efforts bring this unique learning opportunity to Dartmouth High School have allowed over 100 of her students to participate in the JA Titan Business Challenge.

For the past few years, Patricia has also taught a semester-long JA Economics program in her Business Education classes. The program connects high school students to the economic principles that influence their daily lives as well as their futures. She conducted a variety of experiential activities to help her students better understand the relationship between what they learn in school and their successful participation in today’s global economy.

“Patricia is an outstanding supporter of Junior Achievement and our mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. She always goes above and beyond to provide unique educational opportunities for her students that get them excited about learning. We’re so grateful for everything that Patricia does to support Junior Achievement and help local students succeed!” – Jeffrey Pelletier, Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts President
