For their generous charitable support, for their outstanding volunteer efforts, and for their dedication to advancing financial literacy education across the region … we are excited to announce Santander Bank as our JA Partner of the Month!

Santander Bank is a long-time supporter of Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts and their contributions have helped grow our impact tremendously in recent years. In addition to their generous charitable support, Santander Bank employees regularly give their time to teach JA’s K-12 financial literacy education programs in local classrooms. By sharing their financial knowledge as well as the education and career paths that led them to where they are, they bring to life JA’s mission to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Over the past five years, Santander Bank has provided 107 unique volunteers, many of whom teach multiple JA programs every year. Together, these volunteers have spent more than 23,000 hours teaching over 200 programs, reaching more than 4,600 local students.

This impact would not be possible without the support of the entire Santander Bank team and in particular Graham Chapman, Director, Community Partnerships, who leads our extensive collaborations and Christine Perry, Vice President, Manager Commercial and Wholesale Operations, who serves as a member of the Executive Committee of our Board of Directors and as an active volunteer.

In addition to JA Classroom Programs, Santander Bank employees volunteer to serve as Business Mentors for the annual JA Titan Business Challenge, offering guidance and financial advice as students compete in teams using the interactive online business simulator JA Titan. Each year this event brings together 200 high school students from across the region, giving them the opportunity to participate in a dynamic learning experience, hear from some of the region’s top business leaders, and compete for important scholarship awards that can help make a higher education possible.

Santander Bank supports Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts through our fundraising events as well. Santander Bank is a sponsor for the JA IRONMAN Golf Championship fundraiser, and their employees participate in the JA Strikes for Success bowling fundraiser. These annual events help keep everything we do 100% free for schools and students.

“The impact and growth that Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts has experienced in recent years is due in great part to our partnership with Santander Bank. Their financial support has allowed us to implement hundreds of additional programs, and the support of their employee volunteers has been critical in our mission to deliver these programs to local classrooms. From the leadership of Graham and Christine, to the enthusiasm of every Santander Bank team member who volunteers with JA, we are so grateful for all that they do for our organization and the community!” – Jeffrey Pelletier, Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts President

With deep gratitude for all their efforts to advance financial literacy education across the region, we are proud to honor Santander Bank as our JA Partner of the Month!
